Okay dont laugh...but I'm driving my 10W6 with a profile amp right now. It was kind of a temporary solution and I figured I'd replace it with quality when it blew. This was 2 Years ago!! I am running it bridged at 3 ohms and it still hasnt toasted and it sounds pretty good. I think I paid $139 3 and a half years ago. I would recomend it as a cheap amp.
peace

I used to run pioneer 4 channel amps bridged down to 2 to drive my subs. But i got a great deal on a kicker zr240 amp that i couldnt pass by. Its a little overkill because i turned the gain SOOO down and yet still managed to blow out the voice coil of one of my JL's. I built a whole jensen budget system in my friends car and it sounds pretty decent. A lot of the radios ive installed for people were low priced stuff liek aiwa and jensen headunits, jensen and unknown name brand amps like you see in JCWhitney catalogs. But, for the price you pay for them, why not. Don't blow your cash for stuff not necessary for your car. Build a system to suit your needs. Not drain yourself for all this overpriced stuff just so people can look at it, say wow. Or get it stolen.

I have a planet audio 2 channel amp running my 6x9's right now and i havent had a problem with it. i dont recall the model number or specs on it but it really cleaned up the sound coming off those speakers. i'm not sure what kind of job it would do pushing subs, but i might get bored one day and run my MTX 5000's off them and see what it does. also my friend has a set of 6.5 coaxials in his blazer made by planet audio. they handle some nice volume and sound pretty clear, so i think they arent all that bad. actually it's a solid woofer with a bracket monting the tweeter over the woofer, kind of like the option available on boston components.
