I dunno bout Phoenix Gold... but I do know a guy that had 4 Image Dynamics 12's in the back of a Hi-Fonics Collossus 2,200 watt amp and I swear to all of you it was the best thing I've ever heard. He had a JL Audio 4-Channel amp pushin 2 Pioneer 4-Way 6x9's and 2 Pioneer 3-Way 6x9's. Nothing but CRYSTAL CLEAR sound all the way around and no rattles whatsoever. WOW!

p.s. what kind RF amp do you have and why do you hate it?

its a power 250. it sucks because out of the box it had to go back to RF for repairs. And if it gets any colder then 30 degrees outside the amp will not turn on.

both JL and PG make very good amps. however, many of the JL amps have a regulated power supply (correct me if i'm wrong?), meaning that they put out the same amount of power at any ohm rating. either amp will do ya just fine

I have sworn by Phoenix Gold for years. I have had an M25 and an MPS2240 that i have been using for like 10 years now. The 2240 is stable to like 1/2 an ohm and is clear as a bell. I have never had a problem with them and the system jammed. If it wasn't for my head unit i could have competed in the 0-100 watt class and cleaned up. Don't know about new PG's but if they are anything like the old ones they are a great piece of equipment. Just my 2 cents
