Tell us a little more about your setup. You say "quadrajet", but is it computer controlled, or mechanical? You say "no smog equipment", but if the carb is computer controlled, you at least need an O2 sensor. If you have a non-CC carb on there, what distributor do you have? The CC distributor won't do you any favors with a non-CC carb.

Fill us in a little more, and we'll give it a shot.

The carb should have a connector on the top passenger front corner, front driver's side corner, and a single wire to the choke. If so, that's a CC carb.

The distributor should not have a vacuum canister on it, and two sets of wires coming from the base - one going to the distributor cap, the other a 4-wire flat connector going to the engine wiring harness. If so, then it's a CC distributor.

The timing should have been set with the flat 4-wire connector disconnected. If not, your timing will be extremely retarded, and poor gas mileage will result.

Is this a Performer RPM q-jet manifold? I haven't heard of an EGR version of that. I doubt that's a problem, although the ECM will want to see the solenoid or it'll set a trouble code. I've heard of guys just plugging in the solenoid, but not have any vacuum lines going to it.

Any lights come on yet?

sorry it took me a while to reply i had high school prom to go to anywayz i guess its a cc then 4 wires and all
so you say i should disconnect the 4 wires from the distributor to the computer {it wolnt hurt it haveing the comp disconnected wile the motors running??} also the perfermor rpm doesnt have the egr its completely removed no warning light in the dash yet and it runs pretty decent and strong for an old car and motor though it just insanely drinks gas
