How do you know it's flooded? It's not uncommon to have to crank the motor over quite a bit after letting it sit for several days- the fuel all drains back through the lines and it takes time for the pump to recover and push it up to the carb. Made worse if you don't have a functional choke. This is a fuel starvation issue, obviously- the opposite of a flood condition.

when the car sits the gas is siphoning through and going down the ventury.thus flooding the engine.the gas tank is building up pressure and pushing the gas to the engine.try leaving the gas cap off.and see if this solves it.if it doesn't then the carburetor is the culprit.good luck.let us know

Recheck your fuel bowl level. My Rustang did that once (I could shut it off and fuel would literally pour into the carb) adjusted the float level, and problem went away.

i wouldn't go any lower on the floats.one thing comes to my mind is maybe the exhaust crossflow under the carb is getting the carb too hot thus boiling the fuel out of the carb into the engine.run the engine until it's fully warmed up.shut it off and look down the throat of the carb to see if fuel is going into the engine.good luck

ok i understand what your saying but i have a rpm air gap intake... that should elemenate any chance of that wouldnt ya think?.. it onley does it when it sits for 2 days or more.. im very tempted to put a 750 edelbrock on there. im just so sick of fighting this holly. but when it does work it works great...
would a 750cfm carb be asking for problems on a mildly biult 350?
i need input...

Tom,
The accelerator pump in the carb (the little diaphram) could be cracked, and this could cause gas to leak in. And I'd go with 700 before I would 750. If you're running a high lift/ high duration cam, it would be allright to run a 750.
