Stock accel pump

Does anyone know what size the stock accelerator pump squirter nozzles are on a 750 cfm VS Holley ? I think I need bigger ones. The car bogs BIG time whenever I start off from a stop or give it gas in any gear. Thanx

it should be stamped on the front of the nozzle. If not..you can measure it with a mic. Sorry but I can't remember what it is...I wanna say .028"

If your carb is a 3310 and is doing that, it's defective. No amount of tuning will get it to work right until you repair it first.

Squirter size never causes that. In fact, people usually use smaller squirters to cure that behavior, because a smaller one makes the pump shot (which is always the same total volume for any given throttle movement) last longer.

Check to make sure that the pump itself works, its linkage is adjusted right, the rubber valve or steel ball is working, etc. Then try a pump cam kit.

Well what I have is I believe a 4610 or something like that. It's the model with the center hung floats, bright zinc finish and dual fuel inlets.

What I did is buy a cam kit. I tried almost ALL the cams in it. Some make it worse and believe it or not the orange cam (stock) works best. It still stumbles pretty bad though. The carb is fairly new. Only had it on for about 3 months now. Maybe I should try a smaller shooter ?

I agree you definaty need to check the pump arm adjustment and that all the pump internals are working right...or you'll be wasting your time playing with nozzle size. However, I have found that I needed to go to a larger size in several situations. Check everything first, but if you need to go larger..do.

Well I put a bigger shooter in there.. a 37 up from the stock 31 and it doesn stumble off idle at all anymore, but now it stumbles from any rpm at part throttle. I have a black cam in there now on position 2. Any suggestions ?

Just an FYI for anyone that might read this later with the same problem... I readjusted the spring and screw assembly that actuates the lever for the diaphragm and now the car runs very good with no stumbles. I unscrewd the nut a little bit so the lever pushes down on the leverl just slightly.

Another thing to keep in mind is the spring for the vacuum secondaries. If you have to weak of a spring in there it could cause it to stumble because your secondaries are opening to soon. Get a quick change kit and try different springs.

True. I have the lightest yellow spring in there now. It seems fine for now...
