edelbrock secondaries lean

OK....383, lumpy cam, ed. performer rpm intake... edelbrock 750 mech. sec

At WOT the car doesnt burst like burst with speed, but it starts to take off if i slowly let up off the gas, between half throttle and WOT.

Lean secondaries is the problem im presuming.

Im not to familiar with changing the jets or metering rods on an edlelbrock. Can someone run me through it? I know its much different then a holley.

Sounds more like a fuel delivery problem.

Lack of fuel pump flow volume.

Start with the stock jetting for your carb model. It will be close.

You can fine the stock jetting specs at www.edelbrock.com

I agree, Normaly the Edelbrocks have ample on the secondaries.

At any rate, all no need to do is remove all the horn screws on the top. Release the acel. pump clip, and remove the rods. The horn comes right off exposing both the primaries & secondaries.
There's a little slosh plate near the secondaries, pull it out to get at the secondaries easier if you have to.

BTW: the rods are under the little peanut shap plates on the top. They pull right out, and the Power enrichment springs are under those.

....If the fuel volume turns out to be ok...and the secondaries do turn out to be lean, i would just change the rods under the "peanut"shaped cover to richer rods as needed? correct?

The car has great power up until that point after about 3/4 throttle

Changing the rods are more for realy fine tuning the A/F.
If it's not to far off then a rod change might be the ticket.
A jet change is going to be more of a move on the A/F scale.

...and remember the rods are two stage, so your going to need to play with that a little.

No, the rods are part of the primary jetting. You would have to remove the top of the carb and change the secondary jets.

, want the **** was I thinking???

Thanks for strainting me out 'F-BIRD'88'

I guess I've been into learning all about these Holley's lately, that my Edelbrock tech is falling off a little...

I realy like these 4150's, ohhhhhh me likey.......

'cdogc350' you can try changing the secondaries, in fact the time it took me to write this Me or F-Bird would of had the horn off
...and it's not messy like a Holley!!!

Ron
