Going Tpi to Carb--What Intake?

1986 Camaro Z28 TPI Auto 5.0 LB9

Hey--I am sick and tired of chasing these sensor doo-dads so im going to carb so i can have transportation to school and work.

I want the power band to be between idle-6000 rpm, with lots of torque. What kind of intake do you recomend?

For a carb I am getting A 600cfm Edelbrock...that ok?

Thanks,
Blue

Get an Edelbrock Performer or Performer RPM

I'd go with the Edelbrock Performer intake, not the Performer RPM. This intake will give you a greater amount of low-end torque and less high end than the Performer RPM will. It will also be a better match for your heads and carb.

Your power band wont go up to 6000 with out some comparitivly major intearnal mods like cam and head work. Also, I would check out ebay for a manifold. You might be able to find one selling one pretty cheap and save some cash.

I am sure it will work, but it may not be best matched to the carbed intake. It is also probably made to make all of its power under 5000.
