what kind of setup you have?

with my 91, its just in the stock under car location.

with my 82, i had a mechanical fuel pump and on the line that ran up from the pump to the carb, i had one just to the pass side of the thermostat housing.

with carbs, unless they have the built in housing for one in the carb (Qjet), i put them over the intake (supported somehow) just before the carb.

Can't think of what the mr gasket looks like, I used to run a Spectra? galss fuel filter, actually picked up .8 after switching to a cansiter Fram unit, heard and found out the flow on the Spectra were less than adequate. Now with the new carb system went with the Summit fuel filter circled below. This winter after I redo the drivetrain gonna get the Aerospace Billet fuel filter so I won't have to worry about it not flowing enough and dropping my fuel pressure.

Well, I run a MR. Gasket clear glass fuel filter with the replacement elements. It has a 3/8" inlet and a 3/8" outlet. You can see most of the filter under the pass side air cleaner cold air inlet. I have a 750 cfm Q-Jet with a stock fuel pump and have not had any problems with fuel starvation. I like the clear glass concept. One less thing to trouble shoot when things go wrong.

Well, I ran a Mustang GT the other day for around (5) miles (i beat him) and my corrected speedo was at 142 mph. Had to let go because a bridge was coming up fast. So, I guess all i can say is that "The proof is in the pudding"

Auggie,

Did you add that dual snorkle or did the car come with it? Where do you get those?

Cadillac, the car did come with a duel snorkel A/C (L69) but when I installed the 355 and modified my Q-Jet to flow 750 cfm I just felt it wasn't big enough. A friend of mine made the housing out of alum. and I bought a drop base open element A/C and put them together. It now has a 14" x 3" K&N element. There's a compeny in Canada that sell's almost the same setup but they are made out of fiberglass. http://www.ramairbox.com

Man, those engine bays sure do look neat with all that emissions stuff gone. You might want to rethink that fuel line routing though.

Don't what what else to do with the fuel line. Unless I made it go around the back of the carb. That is metal line...it isn't going anywhere.

I ran mine up the firewall and across to about where the trans. dipstick is with metal tubing. There i mounted the fuel press. regulator and then ran rubber up to the edelbrock carb ( about 10 inches)worked great and looked pretty clean also

As for those glass see thru fuel filters, never again! mine over time came loose and blew gas over my headers, turned out the threads (aluminum)let loose , let me set along the road at 5 in the morning . Hose was to short to bypass the filter to get it home. Had to walk to the parts store 2 miles then wait for them to open and walk back

You know you guys I must be missing something here?? The fuel and return lines on my car come up the pass. side. Why do yours come up the drivers side? Fuel inj., V6 or what

All the fuel injected cars came up the drivers side. At least all of the ones that I have worked on. On my 87 the were, so I took the entire line down, rerouted it at the tank and moved it to the passenger side for my mechanical pump. Seemed to me to be the cleanest way when I did the V6 > V8 swap.
