355 TBI to carb??
I have a 355 with th estock LY1 cam and mid length headers on it. I am running the performer intake for teh TBI and th eHolley TB. I am no tvery pleased with th eover all power of thi sset up. I have a pretty good tune on it, just no thappy. Any thoughts as to if I would get any better performance especially up top with th eweiand Xcellerator intake and a carb??
Also what all is needed to be done to do teh TBI to carb swap on a 90 model??
Thx for any input.

What's an "LY1" cam? Or is that just an artifact of the "Y" key being next to the "T" key?
What heads do you have?
In general, the Xcellerator intake is a high-end only intake manifold. Say goodbye to low RPM driving.

I don't think you'd be very happy with an Xcellerator. The bottom of its powerband would be too close to the top of the cam's powerband.
A Performer RPM or Stealth would do you better, I'd think.
"Open chamber 72cc"? Do you mean large chamber? SBC usually aren't referred to as "open" or "closed" chamber, just BBC. Anyway, if you have the casting #'s, that may help. I suspect part of your problem is poor heads (if they're factory, anyway). If they're some kind of aftermarket, never mind.

You maybe suprised that you could get the power you have now with spray on just motor. It is all about choosing the right parts.
