Would this work? Having a remote starter with a carbureted motor.

They use a throttle kicker to close the choke and give the accelerator pump a couple of shots.

I am also interested in remote starting with a carb. I have heard of kits with a throttle kicker before.
Does anyone know where to get one? Please PM me if you do.
Thank you!

They found a way at least 10 years ago because I saw a truck, with a carb, start remotly.

I get the throttle kicker idea and all, but the other issues, like kicking it back down in two(some have 3) stages off the high idle cam seems like it wouldn't be worth it. I mean chokes from carb to carb are different in the thier behaviour. Either there would have to be allot of operator input with the remote or allot of monitoring by the controller.
Some days my carbed cars want 3 pumps, some days just one. Some days it comes off high idle faster than others. Just seems to be more work than just starting one the old way.

I got remote start with my carb'd car. The install guys at Circuit City asked me if I wanted it hooked up when I got my alarm installed (since the alarm came with remote start feature). They did let me know that it would not start when cold and would only work when the engine was already warm.

It can be done. A few years ago there was a guy in my highschool class that had one. The class was close to the car so he used to start it and let it warm up b4 class ended.
