Heads and cam?

Ok heres my current set up.

L98 350 switched over from TPI to carb

Edelbrock RPM performer intake manifold

Quadrajet 650

Everything else is bone stock other then a set of longtube headers. i would like to run deep into the 12's with this car so i'm looking for some pretty aggressive heads and cam. what do i get that will work with my intake manifold and block?

AFR 195 heads.

Comp XR288 cam.

750 Holley or Demon DP carb.

3500 stall converter.

3.73-4.10 gears.

Drag race tires.

Suspension/chassis upgrades to handle it all.

Or something like that...

The infamous Vortec heads and XE274 combo will get ya there but you'll have to buy a new intake.

Performer RPM is what I have... I've seen good results with Super Victors too. You need a vortec-head specific intake manifold... they're a bit more pricy than standard intakes.

Yes, but the RPM style only comes in square-bore carb mount configuration. Edelbrock 7516 for RPM Air Gap, 7116 for regular RPM.

Of course, that's not a problem with my recommended carb.

Obviously, not everybody is convinced. And, I don't know of anyone who has switched between them without changing something else.

You know how it goes: You pick something, and then defend to the death why it's better than what you didn't pick.

i could be wrong but i thought q-jet's smallest carb was a 700,
i have a comp 268/280 extreme energy cam with 2500 stall and a set of worked double hump heads, 2.02 1.60 valves, i plan on hiting the 12 with this setup

The iron lightening heads from RHS will get you there too.
Choose either the 180 or 200cc ports for a 350.
