ignorance is bliss
I am in Heaven.LOL I hope that most people don't have to learn stuff the hard way like I seem to every time. I thought I had carb problems when in fact it was a timing problem. I still have some glitches to work out but runs much better now. Most of us don't like what we don't understand and having said that, I am still going to keep my cc Q-jet. I did finally find the timing tab behind the water oump. Thanks to all that have helped thus far in my project. (there will be more questions later on) lol

In the days when 99% of engines had carbs (fuel injection existed, but was only for "expensive" cars) and non-electronic ignitions, the saying was, "75% of carb problems are solved with a set of points and a condensor."
Not much has changed with electronic ignitions.

Unfortunately for me I finally understand a little and get the carb set ,then I finally get the timing set now I have a phantom where one time I start it and it is great and the next time I can barely keep it running. I am going to have to get into the electronics end of it to fix the problem I think. I may have a faulty ECM that works intermittently. It really gets old to go from one problem to the next but then again that is part of the reason I bought it (what the world was I thinking?)lol
