what to clean carb with??? Pics inside!

ok i got a holley 650DP off e-bay last year and as soon as i got it i was pretty happy with it when i took it out of the box that is untill i took the bowls off... i'm the type of person that rebuilts everythign i get for my car when i buy it used so iknow i won't have problems down the road... anyways the inside of the carb was all white can had deposits all over. i e-mailed the guy i get the carb from and he said they only used 100 racing fuel in the carb (maybe part of the problem is that the carb was on a ford ) i have tried just about everything i can think of to try and clean this carb out.. i'm liek to use this carb i mean all it needs is some cleaning i just have no idea what to clean it with... the car is 100% taken apart so i can have the carb in the cleaner over night.. i have tried that B-12 and the gunk carb cleaner some of it came off but not that much. take a look at the pics and you can see what i'm talkign about... this bowl i haven't tried to clean yet (thats why the float is still in it.)

my problem really is that is blocking the passage ways in the metering block and the main body

Try the dip-type carb/parts cleaner. It's got more than just solvents in it.

You may have yourself a nice little FUBAR paperweight.

The carb is garbage. Every passage, every orifice, is just like that. It's not a matter of "looks". There is not the chance of a snowball in Hell, of that thing ever working right again.

I have to agree with GMGuy. That is a bowl that has been exposed to water. That isnt any "racing fuel" ran thru that. Unless it was on a hybrid

Agreed- that's corrosion. Not fuel sludge or dirt. That's sucker has spent some time in Davy Jones Locker (underwater) or had some time of totally incompatible fuel run through it (alcohol?).

Race fuel doesn't do that. Unless maybe it's nitromethane or something!

well since you can't really return it now, you're basically stuck with it. Might as well try everything/anything you can think of.

Try boiling it on the stove in water/vinegar. It's mildly acidic, so it should clean it well.
