Why?

There's not. Not at least, if you have to retain the computer control.

If you want a CC carb, there is no alternative (except for aftermarket rebuilds).

If you want CC/EST ignition, theoretically you could hook up an external TPS to a non-CC carb and "fool" the ECM into thinking it's a CC carb. But, nobody has reported having successfully done that to my knowledge.

Its been done with the TBI ECMs. Retain the ECM and run a carb in place of the TBI. Theoretically, all youd have to do is substitute a resistor network (or an actual TPS) for the TPS and fool the ECM into thinking the throttle is always open. It should be able to work properly (SA wise, anyway) so long as teh MAP and all other sensors external to the carb are maintained.

just rip all the computer crap out, all the wiring, throw an edelbrock on there, get a full MSD ignition setup or HEI, and last but not least a painless wiring harness.. costs about carb=$250, MSD ignition=$600-$700, Painless wiring harness=$400, Labor=FREEE dont be a lazy *** and do it yourself, its PAINLESS
BTW, this is what i did

Why would you need to buy a $400 new harness to not use the computer?? You just take all the wires coming from the passenger side and not use them.

any carb will give you the same gas milage as long as its built the same (jetting and cfm airflow etc) edelbrock is junk imo (carbs at least), ive never used one but thats all i hear about them and ive tried to tune a friends car with one and that was a waste of time, i've used only holley and they never failed me. but anyways back to the topic...just remove the computer stuff, throw an HEI dist and a holley on it and call it a day

Keep the CC carb, run just as well, and use your money for things that make a difference.
