odd holley fuel leak, suggestions?
hey guys, I rebuilt a 650 double pumper for my 350HO crate engine, and I'm having this weird fuel leak. it seems the two of the screws that sandwich the throttle body plate to the main body are drawing up fuel somehow. This only happens on the drivers side. Seems to do it after the car has sat a bit, like overnight for instance.
I've went through two brand new throttle body gaskets, and I'm almost 100% sure I'm using the proper one, matched it to the original gasket i took out.
I'm kinda stumped, I've included a generic DP pic to illustrate the holes I'm talking about.
It runs great, but does have a whistle from 1000-1300RPM?
Any idea where this fuel is coming from?

Do you have a gasket between the man body and base? If not, theres one thats supposed to be there. Match it up to the throttles on the main body, not the base (650-800cfm use the same base, different body).
If thats not the problem, remove the base from the carb and check it for straightness, it could be warped. Its not an uncommon problem. Couldn't hurt to check the body as well, but I've never heard of that warping.
While the base is off, it would be a good time to check it and the main body for cracks that you may not see when the carb is assembled.

I had two of them do that and they were both new. I found out that on both carbs that it had two screws missing on the base plate, on buth carbs. I have no idea why but after I put the two other screws in them the leak stopped. There will be 8 bolt holes on the bottom but both of mine only had 6 screws. Look and see if yours has all the screws in the plate.
