Air assembly questions
on my 86 305 4bbl firebird i wanna change my air assembly to a K&N http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=60-1640
i was looking at the factory assembly and theirs alot of tubes connecting to it...theres a tube on the left side i think goes into the valve cover...on the other side its conected to the headers
so my question is what do i have to do to put in the K&N
thanks for bearing with me

Re: Air assembly questions
The one tube that goes into the valve cover generally goes into the manifold, not the Air Cleaner. This is your PCV valve hose. Not sure what the tubes going to the headers are for.
Is it a snorkel setup you have on top of the intake now? I know on the TBI cars theres a few lines going to that, is this what you mean?

Re: Air assembly questions
The factory air cleaner has the snorkel, heat stove pipe for the thermac valve, vacuum line for the thermac valve, and the PCV filter breather hose.

Re: Air assembly questions
The K&N air cleaner you're looking at doesn't have a snorkel or thermac valve, so you don't need anything associated with either of those. I believe it has a fitting for the PCV breather hose.
