Any reason why you want to use an Edelbrock?

Re: edelbrock carburetor question
because i dont like the stock carb and it is bad any ways and i like those duel pump holleys but they are a little pricey and i put a edelbrock on my 79 camaro which it had a holley before and i thought it ran a lot better but i am a little worried about putting one on my 5.0 1985 because it has a lot more plugs that will have no where to go and i dont no how that will make it run if i do not have electrical plug in to it i am just used to working with older motors and create motors that dont have so many plugs
----------
and i am unsure if the linkage will hook up?

Re: edelbrock carburetor question
The Edelbrock is a squarebore carb. It won't bolt to your factory spreadbore manifold, so you'd need to change the manifold, or use an adapter. You'll also need to replace the distributor with a mechanical advance one, since the ECM won't be able to control the timing on the stock computer-controlled distributor without the input from the sensors on the factory carb. If you have an automatic transmission, you'll also need to do some wiring to get the torque converter clutch to lock without computer control.

Replacing the factory Quadrajet with an Edelbrock is a downgrade in all respects.

x2

The edelbrocks look nice and all, but a properly set up quadrajunk will easily out perform it and at the cost of next to nothing.

If your going to blow some money, do it right. Buy a half decent carb for it!
