Read the EFI to carb tech article. It's linked in the "Welcome to the Carb Board; Please Read." sticky.

"Sensors" are computer inputs. You don't need to run them if you're taking off the TBI.

"Senders" are gage inputs. You don't need to touch them if you're taking off TBI.

Nothing changes with the alternator, either.

What "module" are you trying to hook up? You need to run a different type of distributor, the most popular is the coil-in-cap HEI type, since all you need to hook up to it from the car are power and tach wires. The power wire is on your current coil, pink I believe (I've never owned an '87-later 3rd gen, so I'm going off what I've heard here), as is the tach wire (white - same disclaimer as the power wire). Or, get a vacuum-mechanical distributor that uses a separate coil, and all you need to hook up are trigger wires. You need to use a stand-alone type distributor, one that has the module built into it.

What do you mean by you have a Delco HEI distributor; what's in the car now, or something else?

Okay, this is the first mention of putting another engine in during the process.

I'd recommend using your current accessories - serpentine system, all the stuff including alternator and water pump. The distributor, if it's the standard '74-'81-ish HEI, will have a vacuum advance can on it and mechanical advance inside it. If that's the case, then it just needs those two wires going to it (and the wires going from the base to the cap, of course).

Then you need a different distributor.

That distributor wouldn't have either vacuum or mechanical advance. You need both for the engine to run properly and get decent gas mileage.
