Iroc-Z with a Six Pack??? What do u think of a 3x2 carb setup for a 5.9L?

I wanna do something a little different with my camaro's motor so im think of doin a 3x2 (six pack) carb setup. The motor as of now just has a 6,000 rpm cam but im getting RHS pro action heads and now im thinking of adding a 3x2 setup to it.

What do u guys think? Does a 3x2 setup have better fuel delivery because of its design? Will it support higher rpms? Is it too many cfms for a 60 over 350?

Sounded like a cool idea maybe this one would work.

its all for looks anyway, the typical reason multiple carbs were/are ever used was because the engines need more carburetion than was available in a single carb. In most cases, you will loose power with a multi carb setup.

Try telling that to an owner of a GTO 389 tri-power or a 427 tri powered vette or maybe a 340 6pak or 2x4 409 or maybe even a (gasp) 426 Hemi.

Usually the problem with multi carbs is setting them up right. 3-2s are nice because you can run on the center carb if you can keep your foot out of the other two.

I confused, is it because there is no room for both the carbs and hei cap/distributor

Some of my Dodge buddies have the three dueces on their car - it's for show only as they are close to impossible to setup 100% correct. It might look cool, but 1,100+ CFM is overkill for a street car.

yuppers, rear carb is back too far for an OEM style large HEI cap. Three deuces will perform well, though a properly done 4 bbl or EFI would probably outperform it..... But in the looks department, tough to beat a tri-power!!!! Trick to tuning them is a sync gauge, find a motorcycle shop that does 4 cylinder bikes, they'll have one....

Would work with an MSD Pro-Billet distributor... just saying...

I'd go with dual 4's before three 2's though. But thats just me.
