Odd question about Holley's

Has anyone ever taken their Holley apart and nickel plated it? I am working on a steam generator and I thought about using a Holley to introduce the water, but I know that corrosion will kill it in short order unless I can "rust-proof" it somehow. I'm thinking of using a hot electroless nickel plating bath and somehow pumping the solution through all the jetting areas to make sure that it gets them as well.

Just wanted to hear you guys thoughts.
Thanks

You can buy aluminum body Holleys now.

That is true, but aluminum still corrodes when in prolonged contact with water which is why I was asking this very strange question. I know that they do have a highly polished version but I'm sure that this "protection" only applies to the outside and not the channels where the fuel travels or the vacuum. The fuel channels are easy since I can just pump the solution through them. The vacuum ones are the ones I don't know about, I'm not sure if there is one spot that I can hook up to and pump it through or not.

Holley's marine carbs have a dichromate finish.

Does that include the inner channels? Or is that just the exterior?

So it should be safe to run water through it rather than fuel for the steam generator?

Re: Odd question about Holley's

That is way to expensive to just "try it and find out".

I misunderstood how you were using the carb.

Have it plated.

That is what I was thinking of, it would be far cheaper to nickel plate it than to "try" a marine grade one just to have it corrode.
