Leaking 650cfm Quick Fuel
My Quick Fuel 650DP is somehow draining both bowls over a few weeks time period. The fuel is going into the intake and down into the oil pan because my oil level keeps getting higher. I know its not coolant because the oil is still black. What could cause the bowls to drain like that?

Anyone? I replaced the metering block gaskets and still same issue. It will drain regardless of whether the engine is hot or cold so that eliminates boiling fuel.

a high float level can cause it. fuel leaking past the power valve, or clogged air bleed can cause a siphon effect inside the carb with the engine off.

If I just turn the key on and fill the bowls, they will drain even if I don't crank the engine so I'm a little baffled.

Re: Leaking 650cfm Quick Fuel
sorry this is off way topic. how would the fuel get into the oil? that would be my concern.

Re: Leaking 650cfm Quick Fuel
That is strange. I would start by looking for a crack in the metering block. And maybe replace all the gaskets on it. or just do a complete rebuild, kits cant be all that much.

Re: Leaking 650cfm Quick Fuel
Here is an update. I pulled the carb and set it on my bench. Best I can tell the fuel (slow leak) is leaking through a screw on the bottom of the base plate that goes into the main body. It's a slow leak because I can't ever see any wet spots on the bench. It takes about a week or two to empty the bowls.
