Carb leaking

Im having trouble with my carb when i turn the fuel pump on it doesnt hold the pressure i have it set to 8psi now...im not quite sure what it was at maybe thats what caused the problem im not quite sure but the fuel appears to be leaking out of the carb through these holes on the base plate and on all the outside holes on the carb itself ( i have a woodscrew pointing towards the holes in which the fuel appears to be coming out of) any help from you guys would be appreciated...i just would like to know what the holes are for and how to fix it so i can get back on the road thanksName: Picture010.jpg

Re: Carb leaking

that is your idle circuit. the fuel pressure needs to be 6-7psi. 8psi can cause flooding and fuel leaking where it shouldn't be.

Re: Carb leaking

i would also replace the metering block gaskets and power valve. those can also cause that. might as well install a whole renew kit.

The only way fuel could be leaking from those holes is if the gasket is messed up or missing.

I'm talking about the throttle plate to main body gasket. Your pics have those deck screws (I cringe every time I see that pic with those screws in the throttle plate holes) pointing at the throttle plate and main body.
