Mallory fpr mounting ideas.

I have been trying to find a new location for my mallory 4309 fuel pressure regulator. I would like to mount it somewhere out of sight and still be drag strip track legal. I think the firewall is off limits due to rules. How much braided -8an fuel line can I use in the engine bay?

Would it be possibe to mount the regulator in the back next to the fuel cell?

Should I just scrap the whole return fuel line, and use a regular Holley fpr?

This is how I had it hooked up in the past.

What rules are trying to adhere to? If you mount it in the back by the fuel cell won't you have to have a fuel dist. block up front anyway? Just some thoughts.

You can have any length of braided hose you like. Mounting on the firewall is no problem.

Re: Mallory fpr mounting ideas.

Mallory recommends that the regulator be mounted within 2 feet of the carb. I'm assuming that means 2ft of line, not 2 feet of physical distance.

Re: Mallory fpr mounting ideas.

I thought the rule book says mounting the regulator on the firewall is a no no. Maybe I heard wrong.

I don't have windshield wipers, maybe I could hide a fpr in there? It would be alot easier with out the return line. Is it ok to dead head a Holley HP150 fuel pump?

I think the Holley pumps have internal bypass springs, so you could deadhead it. You'll probably have more pump noise then, though.

The wiper transmission is down inside the vents on the wrong side of the firewall. Pretty sure you wouldn't get away with that.

I think your right. I was thinking that too.

I ended up mounting the mallory fpr under the alt. between the block and the lower radiator hose. I used a bolt hole in the cylinder head and the included bracket. It is hidden good enough I guess. When I get it done I'll throw some pictures up here.
