this a good air intake system??

wondering if a set up like this would be better then the dual snorkle air cleaner.I have enough space to run a filter down in front of both sides of the radiator pointing down so it sucks in cold air.is this a good system?

It's pretty, but at $120 + shipping, that's about $360 per horsepower gain over whatever you currently have (in otherwords, you might get an extra 1/3 hp out of it). I'm all for pretty, if your wallet allows for it go for it - just know you'll get no noticeable gain.

if he orders it from summit, shipping will be free. he would only pay for taxes. and if u have a stock hood, u may need to check for clearance. i know spectre has a lower profile one very similar that a guy made on here.

It's not a "shipping fee" that the charge. Summit has free shipping. They charge a "handling/packaging" fee. Still amounts to the same thing either way.

Re: this a good air intake system??

I wouldn't bother with it - its a hot air intake. Better off with a stock dual snorkel and a good filter.

It'll be better than an open element, not quite as good as a true cold air system. If you already have a dual snorkel set-up, I'd keep it. If you don't, this one won't cost you any more than a factory dual snorkel, that's for sure.

Re: this a good air intake system??

But the stock setup is pretty much a true cold air system. Not to mention that one posted looks like cheap garbage, and (this is my opinion only) its truly a fugly piece.

I had the Spectre single snorkel, non-dropped hat, filter housing, and ducts on the '57 for a couple of years. It's hardly "cheap garbage".
