Carter M6626 Fuel Pump
Does the OE metal line to the carb fit the M6626?

Re: Carter M6626 Fuel Pump
Well, based on the idea that the OE line would fit the Carter, as it's a direct replacement, I purchased the Summit version of the following kit (all parts are the same size with the exception of hose length):
http://www.jegs.com/InstallationInst...555-100810.pdf
The long and short of the situation is that neither of the fuel pump fittings are correct for my pump. Apparent, the OE fitting is Male 5/8 in.-18 Inverted Flare.
The part is coming soon, so we'll see.

This is what you would have wanted to fit a stock pump, but it still wouldn't have fit at the carb end http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AER-FCP0139/

Re: Carter M6626 Fuel Pump
The Summit kit I purchased fits the Holley 4160 I'm running, so with the correct pump fitting, I "should" be good to go.
From Napa for my OE pump: Fuel Pump Fitting Size[s] : Inlet - 3/8", Outlet - 5/8" - 18 UNF - 2B
Obviously my research fell short.

An old and ancient thread I know (and I'm not referring to the poster or postee...) however what was the outcome of your experience? Is the Summit version different from Carter? The M6626 as I've found it listed has a 3/8" inlet for a rubber hose end and gear clamp, the same for the return but at 1/4" and a 3/8" NPT female inlet fitting.
Sounds about right? I've researching something like this and came across it on a thread I've started.

Any info is appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: Carter M6626 Fuel Pump
I thought it said 3/8" NPT but I guess I'm confusing that with another pump. My Edelbrock has 3/8" NPT in and out with no return. It's the return I'm after.
I'll be looking for an adaptor from 3/8 inverted flare to -6 AN I guess to go with my carb feed line.
Something to replace this 3/8 npt to -6 an.
Thanks.

Re: Carter M6626 Fuel Pump
I ended up using an Edelmann 251660, pump to carb (and bending it 90 degrees) from O'Reilly's:
Transmission Oil Line Coolant Adapter - 3/8 Inch Tube Size x 3/8 Inch (5/8-18) Male Inverted Flare x 4 1/2 Inch Length

Re: Carter M6626 Fuel Pump
Well, one end of that would work for me. The 3/8" inverted flare fitting is half of what I'm after. Now I just to find an adaptor that fits on -6 AN female hose end.
