I've never had luck with aftermarket brackets. I suggest going with Bowtie Overdrives TV bracket. By far the best bracket I've ever used. I replaced my Edelbrock setup (it's not in the trash, I refused to sell it to anyone).

Re: tv linkage too long
I temporarily spaced mine out with some tie-wraps, to take up the slack. Got a new adjustable bracket to fix it permanently, but the dodgy fix worked so well I still haven't gotten round to replacing it after nearly a year.

Re: tv linkage too long
Heh probably! As far as I've ever been able to tell from pics online and waving parts around at speed shops, I've got some oddball throttle arm on my Holley 4165, and some oddball throttle/tv bracket.
However, some online researching said the proper position is about 60% travel to the rear of the throttle shaft, and 1 1/8" from throttle shaft cl to stud cl. One of the holes in the throttle arm is exactly there, so I used it. Incorrect?
The shifts are near perfect, and better than the years I spent with the stud located further forward (still required a little spacing).
The tie-wraps are goofy of course, but might get the OP out of a jam. In my case, either the bracket should position the TV cable mount further back than it does, or my replacement generic cable has an inner cable that's too long. The new adjustable bracket will put it in the right spot.

Re: tv linkage too long
I used split shot to do mine the same way.
Im guessing the problem is caused by the difference in the TBI and TPI cables? Is this correct? I have no idea if one is longer or the other, but that is the only reason I could think. The old cable I had worked without issue on the same setup.

Re: tv linkage too long
Could be. Mine was a TPI to Holley swap, and the OP is TBI to Holley. I bought a TPI replacement cable because it was the cheapest locally at the time.
If length variations in fact are the difference between the various stock intake systems, stands to reason there would not be a stock replacement for Holley's that was the correct length, leading to these problems.

I have hears of people on here of using the spectra bracket and working fine so I think I might try that out and see how that works
