Re: Jet Stage 2 Quadrajet

Installed the parts from Cliffs. Only 'major' changes really seemed to be the 50M 'custom' rods vs the stock 50M rods, and the APT spring that wasn't cut. Also installed new mixture needles, accelerator pump and secondary rods, but wasn't expecting to really notice much difference.

Car ran even better, but the off idle flat spot was worse. Put in the 2nd softest APT spring last night, and it's much better- no jerkiness cruising or getting into gears, and the flat spot is almost gone. Not sure how many turns on APT I am out but going to see if I can tune it out with that, otherwise I may go to the next spring.

All in all, it's good enough that I can teach my oldest to drive stick.

Almost forgot- here's a picture of how deep my IDCRs are. I don't claim to be a photographer nor do I play one on tv.

Mine were and would arc out in moist air conditions.
You can convert to a small body distributor and separate coil.

Those are worse than the large caps. Better to simply vacuum vent the distributor. I vacuum vented all my Vortecs.
