TBI to Carb......Tech questionz...
Im planning on ripping off the TBI in a few weeks and I have a few questions to the members that have done this.
1. What is the part # for the AFPR(mallory I think), so that I can use my stock pump?
2. How did ya'll hook up the detent cable.
Any info will be useful.........THANKZ

You need Mallory part#650-4309(http://Jegs.com part #)usually around $75.I have no idea about the detent cable,I have standard.Hope this helped you out some.

Assuming you have a TH700 and not a TH350, you need to call it by its proper name: TV cable, not detent cable.

the detent cable hooks up pretty much the same way on a carburetor as it does to a TB.
BTW, Jester what was your experience with the AFPR? Did the pump just go out one day?

pretty much yeah. Actually I went through 2 of them before going to an external carb electric pump. Even before they failed..I was having lean problems up top.
Stock pumps just don't cut it for very long...best to get rid of them in the first place and save yourself the time and money.

"TH700-R4". The GM Performance Parts site does abbreviate it to "700R4" and "700-R4", though.
But it's still NOT a detent cable...
