would i be able to hear a vacuum leak inside my car?

would i be able to hear a vacuum leak inside my car?

lately my car has really been runing rough.......my secondaries wont really open only like a 1/8th of an inch.....the car is hard to start.....and i hear a rushing air noise with every crank of the motor.........any ideas?

Vacuum leaks sound like whistling. If that's what you hear, that's what you got!

That is odd... normally you can't hear a vacuum leak... Which may mean it's a really big one in your case... I don't know about your problem, but a vacuum leak usually produces an inconsistent idle (rising and falling) and dieseling (engine runs a few seconds at very low RPM after shutting the car off).

You should start by eliminating the possiblity of a vacuum leak... but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a simpler problem.

my bro thinks there is something cloggin the secondaries or something
im prolly just gonna have it rebuilt

forget about it
yah my heater hoses are messed up too but i know what that sounds like....and im positive its just the primaries trying to suck in a whole bunch of air since my secondaries arent opening...

If it's leaking from the heater controls, you would definitely hear it inside. Mine was leaking after I installed a CD player, and it was noticable to say the least.
