Charcoal Canister

How do i hookup my charcoal canister in my 86 TA. It is hooked up to the fuel side, but i can't figure out how to hook it up to the engine/carb side. I have a Edelbrock Preformer. Thanks for the help.

There should be a ECS vent On the passenger Side Of Your Performer Carb, Its a Fairly large port. That is the Vapor Vent. Throw a LIne onto that and Run it to the canister. Now if Your trying to Do this to Pass smog, You have to Run It VIA a temp and Vaccum actuated Diverter Valve.

But I hate to break it to you that You cant Pass smog with that Carb On Your car anyways, So attempting To Do so Is futile. Wich Brings Us full Circle To why are you trying to hook up the ECS on a vehichle that is Not required to pass emissions ?

Thanks alot, and supposedly i can't pass inspection without it hooked up, and I would like to pass emmissions, but $150 will waive that, so not too big of a deal on emissions.

Would it hurt anything to remove the canister and purge valve and diverter valve and everything?

I know mines bad and im pretty sure its making a bad vacuum leak.

Sure you can pass emissions with that carb. Even with the canister unhooked (except for the visual part). It won't necessarily be easy, but it can happen. Trust me.

Oh yeah, the port you were asking about is on the pass. side pretty much centered near the top of the carb and angled downward if I remember correctly.
