400sb and Carb application (Damon)...

I currently have a Q-jet #17058213. I will be using this carb with a 700R4. The carb is a manual tranny carb. The carb has the larger secondaries, so it will be plenty for the 400sb. Will I be able to get this carb to work with my automatic. If so what brackets and such will I need? Obviously I will need a kickdown bracket and possibly a TV cable bracket? Someone mentioned I will need a vaccum piece for the carb to work with the trans, but I don't quite understand that. Also what size is the fuel inlet? If this won't work what carb do you suggest. I need vaccum secondaries and if possible automatic choke. Thanks

I didn't look up your part number but it should work. What the guy told you about the vaccum line is correct for most older trannies, but not the 700-r4. Some transmissions use vaccum to determine load and thereby shift points. However, the 700-r4 uses the TV cable. Which means there is no vaccum line to the tranny. I didn't look up your carb number so I don't know if the airflow will be good for your engine.
