We need a new required field!

I am tired of finding the parts I want only to find no location or must be picked up locally! We need a real location right now ... not after 3 emails. This completely wastes my time.

You cannot post a classified ad without a location. PERIOD.!

I think I want to sell it locally. Because I'm too lazy to ship it out. I just wanted to make a for sale add on tgo. I'm pissed!

While I completely understand your point about it being frustrating, if someone doesn't want to ship, then that's there choice. I hate shipping big parts too.

I agree everyone's location should be there. If they'd put it in there sig, it would be.

I'm feeling you guys. The worst is when somebody has something typed in the locattion area but instead of saying the state or city it just says something like, "none of your business", or "x car lengths ahead of you". Its fine if your just posting, but if your selling things cut the crap.

Here's all that needs to be done to cure this problem.

In the title of the ad, place in brackets the state where the ad is coming from. For example, if I'm selling a set of breast implants, I'd list them like this:

"[SC] For Sale: One set of really big breast implants, used. Pick up locally..."

Then you'd know if it's worth your time. The guys on Corvette Forum use this style and it works great.

That sounds like a great idea to me. I hope the admin's or moderator's will make a sticky about it.

What I really like about that idea, is you wouldn't even have to check the title or anything else to see if its from SC or whatever state your selling from. Alls you gotta do is run a search and include "SC" and you get all the adds in your state.

Great idea man!

are they currently installed or do i have to help remove them?

btw the state thing isnt that great if you live in a big state.... or if you're near the borders of some other state..

a city/state combo is needed.

even if you do live in a big state there are a lot of guys here who will drive as far as 2 states to save the money on shipping. I think this is a really worth while idea. Even if it doesn't help some of you guys in georgia or cali, it will help alot of other people. And its not like this hurts anybody...

I've driven 600 miles one way for parts. I like to see what I'm buying before laying down the cash, especially on large parts purchases.

we need to redo a few things on this site.

#1 is the state and perhaps the city.
#2 is we should be like a few other sites where you need a user ID to even enter the message boards or classifides (over sea scam artists for one)
#3 could help #2 which is a automatic computer ID verification (so if you get kicked out [scammers and trouble makers] it makes it harder to just make up a new ID) unless you use a differant PC but, even that would become a hassle after so many scams

I fully agree... Somehow it makes a lot more sense to prevent members from potentially scamming somebody (or other actual illegal activity) as opposed to preventing "pottey mouth" and four letter words among thirdgen members.

if you get what I mean...
