cages

i've seen 8 point cages in hardtop/ttop cars before, but i've never seen one in a vert. is it possible to have an 8 pointer in a vert and still be able to put the top down?

Chris, that's going to render the backseat USELESS isn't it?
Not that it was useful for carting around passengers in the first place.

What are your plans for the backseat area?

That's my silver bar above and I've been thinking of HOW exactly it could be made still safe but not NHRA legal exactly. The rear bars could both be joined a LOT closer together and then routed towards the rear deck area to be welded. Even a single bar in the middle instead of the 2...Also since there is very little room between the rear seat and the tonneu cover piece, pressed or flatened tubing could be used in that small area before it gets welded to the plate on the deck. Maybe I'll photoshop something soon!... And passengers in any car with a steel rollbar is a bad idea overall.

Oh! Any worthwhile metalcraft shop can make a rollcage for a car and I bet they'd be willing to work with you on what you want exactly. Goodluck!

ok, roll cages might have a function for safety or bodyflex reasons, BUT definately do not enhance the look of a vert. Even the one from thirdgenresources (which is a crappy company btw) projectcar looks like ***

I think a double hoop style bar would look great. Someone should photoshop it.

I agree with Graboid - I meant a double hoop like 1 inverted U-shaped bar behind each seat -Shelby cobra style - You see them all the time in other cars. Sorry if that did't make sense

Graboid,

I can see why you dont get the idea cuz You have said befor. Your not into Power. but some us are and will need one to goto the track now and then.

I love a vert just as much as anyone else and this is why I picked one up to tinker with and drop a 418sb with twin turbos in.

I dont belive I could get away with a motor like this with out puting in a 8point cage along with my sfc's

and if your thinking to say well you shouldnt use a vert for such a motor. Well I already did the T-top thing with my 92Z and a 383. Im moving on and converting to a vert now.
