spare tire

ok, bought a -91 ragtop and can't find the spare tire, i tried to get 14" tire in the small space in the trunk and it's too big. is there a secret hiding spot or does a "space saver" go there, if a space spacer goes there where do ya put the milk, bread and eggs.

thanks

The spare tire came uninflated so that it would fit in the storage area. There is a little inflater canister attached to the tire to inflate it when its needed. I took mine out since I dont plan on using it.

Left Rear Fender Well

The spare which is an uninflated space saver tire, consists of the tire, a gas cylinder, etc., is in the left rear fender well, the same location as for regular 3rd gens.

Make that space-saver spare tire is located in the right rear fender. On 91-92 'verts it is under the molded carpeting. On 1987-90 coupes & 'verts you have to remove the plastic hatch surround on the right side. The spare has a CO2 gas cartridge secured to the backside of it and is held in place with a large-J-hook. The jack is secured to the body behind the spare tire.

Keep watching on Ebay. Every now and then you will see a vert spare tire. They are rare, but not non existant...

When I bought my car it did not have the inflator so I carry around a small compressor in my trunk...

Good Luck!
