Just bought an 89 vert,it has no fenders. Ive bought the regular Z fenders. How much do you cut off and how do you secure them?

I don't think they are any different - all 'verts started off as t-top cars and most were done by ASC who cut the top off, etc.

After you cut them there is a special part that pop rivets to the fender to mount it. I have one of the parts for the left side.
If interested PM me.

I was thinking the fenders are the same but after buying some and trying to put them on they are very differnt. The vert has a box frame with no pinch weld at the bottom. Id say there is about 4-6 inches that needs to be trimed.

Oh, I hadn't even considered that - yeah, I guess ASC cut the rocker ground effects and welded in that box of steel for structural rigidity... I guess that makes the fenders fit different..
Hey Dyno Don,I am interested in the vert fender mount . Please get back to me .Thanks

Dyno...I sent ya one
Here is a couple of pictures showing the problems with the regular fender. The bottom has to be modified to fit. Surely some one out there has had to have done this. Thanks for the input.
Iget a message saying they are to big . Any advice on how to shink my original file?

I swapped on my 87 formy fender onto my 91 vert when I got it. Nothing really to explain, just measure the old fender against the new one and chop away. I pop riveted the bracket onto the fender and it's held for 2 years.
The problem is I have no old fenders and nothing to go by.But Im getting ready to do just that...chop away. I'll figure it out.

It would be SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET if someone had a pic of this. My project vert has no fenders either. I would like to get a pic of a "factory modified" fender and of that bracket. Some measurements would be cool too

Do you have the brackets? If not, how are you attaching the fender to the car on the bottom?Originally posted by Daves Iroc

Even without the old fenders it'd be easy to just sit the fender up on the car and pop a line where to cut.
I dont have the brackets and I dont know what they look like but fortunatly a senior member Dyno Don is sending me one for the left side. Then Ill see if I can make one for the other side. Thanks Don

Pictures of fender that needs modification to fit on convertible.

I cust the bottoms off of my original fenders and pop riveted them on the new ones I got. Will get mine welded properly when I get round to having the car repainted. The ground effects hide the joints.
