This is a close up of the back window, notice how red thread was used throughout the sewing.

What parts are you talking about? I have found NOS parts on ebay and surfing the net. The old top is in the garbage, however i did pay the upholstery shop for the master print of this top. That way in the near future I can have the top made and I will not have to pay for installation.

I have 3 Autoform TransAm Convertibles.

It looks like you stuck with the buttons to tie the top down. I've always found the buttons don't hold extremely well (especially when the top shrinks when it's cold).

Any info on what you did for this?

Yes I did use the buttons, but the quality of material is the key on how much shrinkage you would have. Being that my car is garage kept and not driven in the rain or winter I dont have to worry about that. The top material is Black Stafast Cloth, which is suppose to last up to 10 years if properly taken care of. But I guess it will depends on your geographic location and how much rain or sun the top is expose to. This guy did and excellent job to where certain portion of the top has double layer of the cloth with padding in the center of the middle bar. The great thing about this top is the guy made it from scratch and gave me the blueprint, so that I can now just have the material cut and sewed which will allow me to do the install myself. It cost me $800 for this top, but the guy gave me a serious break cause he usuallly charges $1200. I had all my interior work done by this guy and he is a gret person and always meet the deadline that he gives you, plus the work and price is outstanding....
Hope this info help, feel free to ask anymore question

Your car has come a long ways since you started that project! I guess the colder weather up there in IL did not slow you down. Too bad your not back here in the south where you can pretty much drive your car all year round.

Really Nice job!!! Love the new top. I am about to have to put a new top on mine. Mine is still original to the car and it is finally showing its age. The back window is shot! I was thinking of going with the Sundeck (German cloth style) this time. They don't seem to be as affected by the weather as the vinyl.
