rear deck lid

I just bought my second third gen camaro. this time convertible. The lower portion of my deck lid is rusted, bad. where can you get a replacement lid or is it better to try and not out the rust?

There's a guy I'm getting a few other parts from, and he has one. I emailed him asking if it's still for sale and how much. With his permission, I will PM his info and price if he responds today.

Napa? New deck lid? I would be very surprised if they carried it, as these cars were all made into 'verts outside GM's plant.

If you do find a trunk/deck lid new, please tell us!

Yeah, that's right - dibs!

I'll be cruising over to the SC3G.ORG meeting/dinner this Saturday with my top DOWN! Which, for now, means twisting my 6'2" frame into the back seat, folding it down so I can reach under the tonneau and remove the vice grips that currently hold the convertible top pin into the hole in the tonneau cover, so that I can then get out of the car, pull up the rear of the top, so that I can manually pull each of the two little 'emergency' cables that pop the tonneau cover, so I can then release the front of the top, pull it back, stuff the whole thing down, realize I didn't fold that little part by the front of the top correctly because it doesn't all fit under the tonneau cover, do it again, then close the cover.

And I used to think t-tops were a pain to take off and store!

I have GOT to get a manual top release system set up...

Lon, what if I just bring you my car - will you get this worked out?

Are any of my fellow 'vert drivers attending the dinner tomorrow? (Sat Dec. 3rd) http://www.sc3g.org/thetrack/viewtop...er=asc&start=0

Ah, but not for long - I've convinced Lon to help me get together the parts I need to convert my 'vert back the the manual style release, so with a little luck it will be a simple operation to get the top up and down.

I saw how his worked at tonight's dinner, and it was easy as can me.

Man, that guy sure does know his stuff...
