Convertible top frame
I just bought a 1992 firebird 305 convertible, which I'm slowly restoring. Does anybody know where I can find a convertible top frame that is in very good or new condition? I tried E-bay but man....those tops are in very bad condition. I tried doing a search on googles and yahoo dot com with no success. The engine search I used were as follows: "Camaro/Firebird convertible top frame" next was "Convertible top frame" and finally "GM Convertible top frame". If anybody out there can point me in the right path I will be most grateful. I would like to get my Firebird out on the road for the summer. I almost forgot I also looked at my local salvage yards but none carry them since they are very rare.

 

there is one on ebay right now.

Thanks for the feed back! I checked out the frame on e-bay but the shipping cost more than the frame itself. If I'm going to spend that much on shipping I rather just invest in a new one if I can find a place that can mold one from the orig. plndtx I will look into the website later on today!

 

my friend has a 85 t/a vert and he just had the frame all re welded and painted... it looked like brand new

 

any pics of your friend's if he isn't interested I may be.

 

Once I have a replacement for the frame,I will post some pics if intrested in buying.

 

send a pic of the handles anyway if you can now just because there was 2 different style tops and I want mine original. also the side pivot points behind the door glass. Thanks

sorry I think I either said it wrong or you misunderstood. He wasn't trying to sell it I was just stating that that is what you can do to get your frame back in 100% shape.

 

Well I have a complete clean frame with a black top and rear window for sale and every other Vert part you can think of as the car is still complete. Looking for a serious offer so no low ***** please.

 

what year and any pics of the frame? may need some other stuff too. LMK THX

 

Its off a 89 and comes with a pretty clean black top and window, also have everything else, please give me your email and I can send photos, thanks
