1983 Coach Conversion Camaro Convertible

I just purchased a 1983 Camaro. It has been converted to a convertible by Coach Conversions Inc.. I have a broken convertible top latch. Does anyone know if they are still in business and how I might be able to get a hold of them. The car is a 5.0 liter v8, automatic transmission, Ac, pw and pl. Also might be interested in a value or to sell.

I am sure you Googled them and nothing..

Post some pictures of the latching system maybe some could make one for you or point you in the correct direction.

Yeah, I agree. Replacement vert parts for non-ASC conversions are next to impossible.
Your options might be limited too . . .
- Less likely . . . of a parts car.
- More likely . . . a metal fabrication shop can make a reproduction part for you. This is not a challenge for a decent shop, especially if you have the original broken part.

Good luck and nice unique ride.

They are no longer in business,I found that out about a year ago while working on a 83 for a customer. Both of his latches broke as did the side cables,he ended up finding the latches on ebay and I made the cables.

Re: 1983 Coach Conversion Camaro Convertible

I have purchased a 1983 camaro which has been changed into a convertible. I have seen several cars like it on the internet, but no luck in finding the maker for parts. The conversion that I have has the two (batmobile type) humps behind the driver and passenger seat. I have a picture of it but not sure how to attach it with this letter. That should be the conversion from Autoform.

Your car is definitely an AutoForm. Add your car to the AutoForm registry here: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/conv...-registry.html

Doug6009 - You will never find true Coach Conversion latches. Chances are good that they used off-the-shelf latches from a production convertible. Good luck figuring out which ones. Of course...you could post photos and we can help you.
