What's Your vert doing this winter

I was wondering what r your plans and how has your progress been so far this winter. I also wanted to upload some pics because I am proud of my vert and wanted everyone to see her as she transforms into the beauty I envision.

I covered my tonneau with black ostrich but have now decided to remove the cover and have the fiberglass worked over and painted black chrome (same with the hood louvers). I am having the bottom of the door panels done with the ostrich and I am very soon to order the red carpet.

Black chrome on the louvers will look great.

My car is in the garage in a few dozen pieces. Tore out the interior and am fixing it up with some new parts, TLC, re-wiring, etc.

Re: What's Your vert doing this winter

Since september I have been installing TPI injection with OBD2 electronics. Tuning that.

Sunday, I took the front half of the exhaust off, put headers on. Saturday I will get a y-pipe installed.

Next will be putting it up on ramps for a few weeks(sometime). Wire-wheeling and spraying the undercarriage with rust converter, prime, paint.

Minor crap
fix ebrake light, adjust cable
make speedo work from wire-redoing
relocate map sensor
install 85mm maf
find all size swaybars, and adjust handling
order spwire holders (possibly today).

Re: What's Your vert doing this winter

Fixing stuff as needed, buy mostly looking for those few nice days every month to get it out on the road.
I drove mine Friday all day because I knew the snow was coming (got about 6-8 inches of snow overnight and into Saturday) but it will melt, hope to have it out again before Chirstmas.
I took this picture when I swapped the Convertible that lives on the drive way into the garage to thaw.
Gotta love living in the Mid West.

I did the exact same thing... Knew the weather was going to get crappy, so I drove mine to work Friday too. It was the first I had it out in about 3 weeks. Unfortunately, they pre-treated the roads with the grine or whatever the hell they called it. Fortunately it didn't get the car too bad though. Fortunately the snow stayed north of us here in Columbus Oh though.

Mine is parked next to the other cars I don't drive in the winter. I'm still looking for front end parts. I have my work cut out for me this spring. Lots of body work to be done.

Daily driving with new wheels.

I have a 3.27 nine bolt with PBR disks in the garage. I also have a new master cylinder, e-brake cable, and speedo gear to go with it.

Re: What's Your vert doing this winter

Sitting under a cover in my grandma's basement garage (next door to my house). I'll be fixing some minor details over the winter like a sticking speedo needle that is hung up on my white faced gauges, and a few other small things like that. Sometime around my birthday in March I'll be taking out the transmission and sending it to an Fbody performance shop around here to have a T56 installed.

Mine's a daily driver so I'm cruising it all winter long. Snow or shine.

Cadillac, nice choice on the ZS's! They're 17's?

Looks good with the C6 Rims. I'm torn if I want to get my current ones refinished or just get some new Rims. Thought about yanking the ZR1 Replica's off my Vette and throwing them on there to see how they look. What size spacers did you end up having to use.

I won't be lowering mine though. The license plate already scrapes occasionally where I have it mounted..... Damn front plate laws

17's. Indeed.

Some say I am a Sportline kit away from a perfect stance.

Rethinking daily driver with drag radials in a Norcal winter (rain!).

I thought about putting my plate there but I don't think anyone would ever see it!

I'm using a 2" spacer in the front, which, IMO is a little small. I'd like to pick up a 2.25" now that I'm using the c6 wheels. They actually run slightly farther inward than my old c5's. The rears are with a 1" spacer on a 4thgen LT1-style axle.

I always liked the crosslace wheels but they were WAY too small for me. Not many wheels look good on the birds. I hate chrome.

I'd really like to find a set of black T/A lace wheels for my sister's 91 Formula. I think they'd really set it off nicely, more so than the stock salad shooter-ish looking wheels. I'd have to talk my dad into buying them for her though because she has no job!

I hear you loud and clear on that one...my monthly payments on my Silverado are $159, and the insurance is $129 a month, and on top of that it gets about 13 mpg. My Camaro costs me literally $16 a month plus any gas I might use.

This is my first year in Ohio and the weather is crazy, but I got the itch monday too so I just sat there with the garage up and let my imagination run wild

Re: What's Your vert doing this winter

You guys have some nice rides!

Cadillac, Love the Zs's!Always been a fan of them!.

I drove mine last week twice with the 60 degree freak weather we were having. Other than that it's begging to get back to the track with new MT Radials to get a 9 second timeslip finally. No pics of the Corvette Sawblade rims I got for the street but those look pretty good. A nice change from the ZS's... More nitrous, new tires, Q16 fuel, front end repainted finally!... Pic from mid summer:

Re: What's Your vert doing this winter

My Vert gets driven at least once a week year round. I've always suscribed to the old axiom that the worst thing you could do to a car was to just let it set up...

I live in South Georgia. It will be about 70deg on Saturday with a 30% chance of rain. I will probably take it out and go topless!

It gets hot as hell here in the summer but you can just about count on getting out and putting down the top at least a few days even in the winter...

Projects on the car - Tighten up the danged header bolts and finally put on the locks... Install door kit for both sides...

I need to find the paperwork but I will soon have owned my vert for SIX years! It sure doesn't seem to have been that long.

Re: What's Your vert doing this winter

I actually just got a beater two weeks ago, and the TA was sitting under the car port eagarly awaiting a nice sunny day to go out. Here in CO its been snowing quite a bit, however last sunday it was in the mid 60's, so you can guess what the vert did.

I don't have a garage, but I like to have the TA available on any good sunny day, weather its winter or summer.

Just happy I got a beater, finaly (1992 mercury capri ) so I thought I share the info that my third gen vert is no longer a daily snow warrior.
