What is this vert worth??
What is this vert worth??
Its an 89 RS convertible and I wanted to know what you thought it would be worth. It rear ended a lexus going about 35 mph He cut in front of the camaro. there was minor front end damage which is in the photos. The damage was repaired and the car has a salvaged title. I would like to know how much the car would be worth and how to get a regular title for the car.

Re: What is this vert worth??
I would say there is about 2K worth of parts there if you were geared for chopping it up. As something to restore and drive, I wouldn't pay more than a grand and even then I would try to get it for lower than that given there could be other, hidden damage. The interior looks great and that's a large part of what makes a thrid gen valuable (my new theory).
That's just me.

Re: What is this vert worth??
The guy that owned it should have not taken a salvage title that doesn't look like alot of damage mine had 3700 worth of damage and they didn't total it.The car is prolly worth 2k unseen damage? who knows. looks like a clean car they should have hung some cutains from the rear view mirror to match those horrid looking hood scoops though

Its prolly worth 2 but then you have the salvage title issue somewhere between 1-2k If you are going to keep it for a long time and really do a nice job on it I would say its worth 2, save all the pix of the damage too

Re: What is this vert worth??
I'd compare ones in good shape and then decide if it's worth it TO YOU to get. Getting a salvage title is risky. Mine is a salvage title. But I really wanted a Trans Am. Couldn't beat the price for the vert 5 speed (2500) on E-bay. I did have to put money into paint and a couple of other things, but it was worth it to me. I'm happy with it now.. will be happier when I can get posi-traction put in though
To me it looks like it just needs paint and cosmetically it will be in GREAT shape. Now mechanically.... it's still a 20 year old car.
BTW is that 56,000 miles or 156,000 miles on it?
Another BTW... don't go into it planning on making money. More than likely... you won't. It has to be a fun investment for your self, not a money making investment.
