I've searched and found lots of good information but didn't see my answer so I have to ask. The cable coming from the rear release has a disconnect off to the side. Mine is missing whatever snaps in there and wondered if anyone has a picture of what it's supposed to look like and where it's supposed to go. I'm trying to attach a picture, hope it works!

Your missing the housing and the plastic pull handle that attaches to the cable

 

This is what the housing piece looks like.It mounts to the tonneau cover.I have an extra one of this housing piece.I cant help you out on the plastic pull handle though as they are kinda hard to find

Here's some rough pic, but I hope it helps. You can see where the end of your cable attaches to the box in the tonneu cover. In that box is a sliding release handle.

There are frequently members on here that are parting out a vert. You may have some luck finding a used one. Keep your eye out. Search the auto-wreckers, car clubs and online. Good luck.

 

check hawks under convertible parts they have the handle with the cable for 95.00 bucks.
