Hey guys, I have been away for a while. About four years to be more accurate. I sold my 88 after blowing up the T-5. It was either time to sell it, or put some $ into a TKO. When a friend offered me $5k for my 88 RS, I had to take it. I was preparing for a wedding and buying a house, so it worked out. Anyway. I was just driving down the road the other day, and I saw a vert. I remembered how much I wanted one back when I had my coupe, and then how much I miss my coupe. Just like that the thought was gone. Then I was browsing craigslist while I was supposed to be working when I stumbled upon this 89 vert for sale in my area. It says it's a 305, which I am not excited about, and it is an auto which isn't particularly enticing either, but I'm still interested. I haven't heard back from the guy yet, but did send him an e-mail. Can you guys tell by the pics, does this look like an RS to you? I almost think it is a Z28 based on the rear bumper, but can't tell. I have a feeling it is a TBI 305 based on the hood, but I dunno. You guys are the pros, what do you think?

Ur right, hood is RS, aftermarket wheels and bumper to small to read. Good luck, let us know what you do.

Yeah, I figured it was an RS. It would most likely be a TBi then too. I'm kinda bummed that the guy hasn't called me or e-mailed yet. It probably sold already. Oh well. My wife is probably right about not needing it anyway.

 

If I'm not mistaken, all 89 convertibles where RS 305s.

PS; FYI . . . In 1989 they actually made more IrocZ verts (3,940) than RS verts (3,245).

 

The TBI is definitely a downer, but there aren't a lot of vert's in my area. The car would probably end up being a 378ci destroker full roller with world or dart heads and a single plane with carb within a year anyway. That's how I roll. Or that's how I would probably want to roll anyway.
