plastic sticker protector between pain and convertable top??
i am finally getting my car back tomorrow after 3 weeks of external restoration, can't wait. they told me i need to get one of those stickers that protects the paint when the top is up because they took it off. does anyone know where to get one of those? its basically a heavy duty clear sticker that goes on the paint where the top rests on top of the car in the up position so the paint does not get messed up.
thanks.
thanks.

Looked that up and description is vague but price is right. I call Phoenix graphics and they told me they could make them but needed a new one for a template. Couldn't find a new one at the time. If you order one let us know if it's the right part. I need one for my resto. Don't u just love the treasure hunt for parts for our convertible cars. Love being a part of this.

$98.00 is a complete rip for a piece of clear plastic. Does that come with or without a bottle of KY.

That's a great price, there was a guy here on the forum who wanted 250 - 300 for the set. Now that's a rip

and the sad thing is its not even 98, its $195. I did some research on this site, some people say window tint places will some times do it for around $50, but the one i went to today was clueless about doing it so i have to keep searching.

Re: plastic sticker protector between pain and convertable top??
Maybe we are approaching this from the wrong end. Maybe there is something we could put over the weatherstripping on the bottom edge of the top itself. This way we would not have to depend on a large piece of clear plastic. Maybe some sort of silicone coating on the weatherstripping and the top fringe so it would not rub while driving. Just a thought. Maybe have a painter put on 25 coats of clear LOL. All I know is $98.00 is bad and $195 should be a mandatory 10 years in the pen for selling and 6 months probation for buying. My grandfather used to say "thats where two fools met".

Ya, wish I could get one of these put on. Had my vehicle repainted a few years ago and they could not get them. I rarely drive my vehicle w/the top up, so when I store in in the garage I put some microfiber towels between the top and the paint so it does not scratch.

Lets be honest: It's $5.00 worth of materials. What you are paying for is the cut. If I had one of these pieces, I could take it to my friend who works at a vehicle wrap shop and have him laser-cut some. Bet his boss would let him do as many as he wants, as long as he's getting a cut. Maybe $25.00... (Not including shipping.)
