R.I.P.

My '92 vert was murdered yesterday when an idiot turned left right in front of me! I hit his 91 chevy p/u broadside at 45mph. I ended up completely off the roadway approx. 60 ft from the point of impact. I walked away with a scratched knuckle. Thank god for sealtbelts and an airbag that functioned at 20 years of age!

Re: R.I.P.

I really worry about something like this happening to me. I know that finding another F-body after 20 years with the GTA would be pretty much impossible. I hope insurance doesn't treat you too badly.

Re: R.I.P.

Sorry for you loss. losing a good car is a little like losing a good friend. Don't let the insurance company push you around. Be firm.

Re: R.I.P.

When they talk about value go to nada.com. KBB says my GTA is worth up to $1800 nada says $7500 to $10440

Re: R.I.P.

KBB is worthless for anything over 10 years old or so. both my cars are worthless by KBB standards, but NADA is more reasonable.

Re: R.I.P.

Tell the Insurance company to price a replacement car. After looking around for a week and finding nothing you will have an easier time getting a reasonable settlement. i know the policies state they are liable for the value of the car so what better way to find actual value than to find an actual car for sale
Best of luck to you with the insurance Co. Glad you were being watched over!

Re: R.I.P.

As an afterthought ... after you have settled ask how much they want for the car to buy it back. i am sure it will not be more than scrap price and you will have a LOT of useable / valuable parts that others can use. Perhaps a way to get the funds to buy another ...
