92 Z28 Conv. trunk question
Looking at my recently purchased 92 Z's trunk, I notice there are no plastics, only a fuzzy finished carpet type material. Any insight on this? Is it what came in them. It's a 45,000 mile car that's supposed to be orig. Just wondering. Also there is an ACS sticker on the door, ????? Thank's in advance. Buckshot (Bill).

Mine has no plastics but you certainly can't go off my example. It looks like there never was though.

Later model verts got the carpeted pieces.My 89 vert has the plastic trim pieces in the trunk

Thank's, I appreciate the replies. Having never had a 3rd or 4th Gen Convertible before, I was curious. Still no idea why the ASC sticker on the door. Has a 3 in the VIN, so its a mystery to me. Thank's again, Bill.

Because ASC still did the conversion of the VIN 3 cars

That was a good question. I have a 92 z and it came with molded carpet instead of the plastic. I figured they were running out of plastic and since it was the last year they just cut a corner to save cost.

1985 - 1991 - Hard Plastic Coupe pieces trimmed down.
1991 - 1992 - Cloth.
IIRC Around August-September of 1990 they got rid of the rear plastic pieces. From what I understand the early 1991 Camaro's got the plastic pieces when the Trans Am was introduced they just got rid of them altogether to save some weight.
