ConvertiblesDiscussed here are problems and solutions to convertible specific questions, including difficult to find part numbers and other convertible tech help.
I recently acquired a 03/88 Iroc Z28 convertible. It has an ASC tag that says April of 88. It has a B&M shifter in it. Is that stock? It also has a number plate under the hood on the rad support. 09 4016. Does that mean anything? Any theory is better than what I have now.
Thanks for your time.
I'm not sure what those numbers mean. That spot on my 88 IROC is covered by the air intake. I'll have to look when I get home. My 88 was built in 4/88.
I did a search on here, and it looks like it's just a build sequence number.
And since Camaros and Firebirds both came down the assembly line together, the sequence numbers will not match the VIN, unless it is the very first car built for the model year. My 88 has a higher number than your car, simply because it was built a month later than yours.
Oh and thanks for the compliment on my car. I would like it a lot more if it was blue lol
No, that radiator support tag has nothing to do with ASC. We have an 86 IROC-Z, t-top car at work with 26k miles and it has the same tag. It's just the build sequence number at the factory
