stupid radiator....pisses me off

Tonite for supper I decided to make some grilled chicken. Well, we didn't have any lighter fluid for the charcoal...wonderful news, huh. I decided to get some because I really wanted the grilled chicken, so I went to Walgreens. It was close and I backed into the parking space locked the car and went inside. (By the way, I was dressed in my shorts that are ripped straight down one side of my ***, good thing I'm a boxer boy.) I found the lighter fluid and was pleasantly surprised at the price, so I bought it and went outside. I was ready to eat some chicken. I get outside, and what else do I see dripping rather fast from the front of my car, antifreeze/coolant. RE-****ING-DICU-****ING-LESS. I cannot believe that the radiator now has sprung a leak.....and this being a *** damn expensive radiator. Now, I have to splurge for a new ****ing radiator this summer to....****ing re-****ing-tard-****ing-ed. Now, I won't be able to afford my trip to AZ at all. I sure hope this car doesn't need a new radiator every ****ing summer....Jesus Christ ate my ballz today.

On another note....
I really need to tune this car, it was running like a little baby bitch Geo today.

Have you checked all your rad hoses for tightness? And over flow bottle for cracks?

No doubt...

James

On the technical side, I'm interested to know where the leak was from Maybe we can help you fix your problem.

actually i live in chicago area...phoenix is just a nickname. as to whether i checked all my hoses or not, yep...poped the hood when i got home...and it looked like it was running right out of the radiatior. the thing that pisses me off is that i replaced the radiator last summer, when i found out that fans were disconnected byt the previous owner and it overheated . And yes i did it myself . Im gonna go back out today and check to make sure of where it was comming out...to see if there wasn't possibly a hidden trail of coolant to what i saw in my rage . dont really need any help with it though, thanx for the responses, i just needed to vent. as to driving with it dumping coolant, i was only like a couple blocks from my house so it would have been able to make it home just fine (not enough time for the engine to really heat up) which was another reason y it was frustrating, because if the radiator is leaking, something had to of punctured it i would believe, I mean the temp guage barely read 120 yet, and i just installed a new sensor for the guage, so i would hope it would be accurate, and from the little distance i went, there really wasn't any time for the car to heat up past the 120. oh well, will know exactly what it was in about 2 hours...

gotta get this in...

Mmmm...chicken

Good news is radiators aren't too expensive. Auto Zone has that GTA aluminum factory one for like $150 if it turns out your radiator is really junk. Like the other guys said, check your hoses and stuff first.

One time in band-camp.....I mean one time I came out the Bank one summer morning and found anti-freeze running out from under my Z28. Turned out I blew a head gasket and it was pushing antifreeze out of the coolant overflow & a loose hoose fitting. I hope your problems are just a radiator, but if you keep popping stuff and springing leaks you might want to do a compression check and keep an eye on the color of your oil. Best of luck!

Maybe if you could go into further detail for us.

Be sure about the hoses being tight, the lower one came loose on me once.

I'd recommend the Griffin aluminum radiator from Summit for $180 if you need a new one.
