Plenium Spacer material???
I have a hankering to make a plenium spacer for my 2.8
I have done the TB coolant bypass.
but that suckers still gets hot.
It is only air flow so any material should work, long as it seals.
But what would be the best store bought material that would flow little heat form the lower to the upper plenium.
Also I will find longer bolts and make a heat spacer/washer for them, so the bolts do not transfer heat from bottom to top.

I hope i did not pick the wrong section.
I am looking to lower the temp of incoming air, which should lower combustion temp which should increase power with over all lower engin temptures???

You could easily accomplish the same thing by ducting cool air into the TB. While air is moving through the TB, the plenum doesnt get that hot. If you idle for long periods of time, or after the engine is shut down, then the plenum can become heat soaked.
Also, if you have not done a TB bypass, then you are running hot coolant through the TB, thereby heating the plenum.
But.... IMO Spacers, like you are referring to, usually go between carbs and the manifold to help with vapor lock. Since the plenum and runners dont contain any fuel, there really is no need for spacers as you are describing.

you did not even bother to read my post did you, you just started typing.
I have ram air, dual hood scoops raming fresh cold air into the engine. I also said I have done the TB coolant by pass.
but still the upper plenium gets very hot, I am asking for opnions on what kind of store bought material to use. you can be these for a v8 but for a v6 I am gonna hafta make it.
What should I make them out of, wood, plastic [what kind]??? stuff like that

Most of the big companies use phenolic plastic on their carbspacers.
I saw an article once where they compared phenolic, to wood and said alot of the hardcore dragracers cut spacers out of wood, because it insulates better than anything, the only downside being it soaks up fuel after a while (not a problem with EFI)
Of course you'll probably want to find a good dense wood, as in other than osb or plywood.

Yes I did read your post, but no, I didnt look at your signature. People put all kinds of cr*p in their signatures. Sure you didnt edit your orginal post?? ;-)
ANYWAY. The only kind of spacers I have seen that i believe you are talking about is the kind that go between the TB and the plenum, and those are usually made of aluminum and are for increasing the air gap or to "swirl" the air (bs imo). I have never seen anything that goes between the plenum and the runners, nor the runners and the manifold base that were made for cooling. The carb spacers I mentioned were phenolic if I remember the term correctly, and were of some kind of resin material. Whatever you use, it will have to be a hard material that can hold the torque settings of the bolts.
