removing foglights for cold air?

I have a 82 TA with the old LG4 motor. I currently have one of those 14Inch k&N's on with the exteme top. I have a 1inch spacer on the carb to boost it up a little. I removed the plate on the power bulge hood in a effort to get more cold air in.. right now with these hot days i think im getting alot more warm air in then cold. I was thinking of removing the fog lights to add a ram air effect. When the lights are removed there is a nice opening for air to travel in at lower speeds. Just wondering what you guys think about this idea..? am i really adding cooler air in the engine bay or just wasting my time.. ?

Those are your front park/turn signal lamps. You might want to keep those for legality purposes

I have seen a guy do this. He just gutted the lamp and cut the end off the light housing and connected some kind of snorkel tube off an aircleaner assembly on both sides. He bought another set of lights and relocated them into the bumper some how to stay legal. It seemed to work well but then you have hacked up your car. My opinion....get a hood. Expensive but worth it.

the little black "grilles" in your bumper may also b a posibility for cold air induction....i was thinking about doing that...but then didnt want to cut stuff and decided on putting foglights in there instead........

i took the stock foglight out of my 86 camaro for the same reason, didnt seem to make much of a difference, i would make a custom ram air setup that runs to it from the air cleaner but theres this little thing in the way called a radiator, so i think im gonna stick the lights back on
